最初は無垢な百合乃も次第に羞恥を中心とした歪んだ性への素養を見せはじめます。
主人公は二重生活を送りながら正反対の少女と深い倒錯へと耽ります。
本作は『檸檬』『かなりあ』に引き続き、大正時代を舞台にした物語。
ただし前二作品に較べると時代は下り、昭和初期といったほうが正しいかもしれません。
関東大震災以降の日本は大不況、戦争…と、大正ロマンの華やかな雰囲気から、
失意と絶望の闇の時代へと沈みこんでゆきます。
『僕は天使じゃないよ』はそんな時代の物語です。
